Russia and Thailand: Trade, Investment and Logistics in 2026

The II Russian-Thai Investment Forum will take place in Bangkok on 29-31 October 2026. The programme will focus on bilateral trade, investment, transport and logistics, financial infrastructure, and emerging areas of business cooperation.

A Platform for Business Cooperation

The II Russian-Thai Investment Forum (RTIF 2026) is organised by the Russian-Thai Business Council. It brings together business representatives and organisations from both countries to discuss economic cooperation and potential joint projects.

The main theme is Russia-Thailand: A New Era of Economic Partnership.

The business programme is scheduled for 30 and 31 October at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel in Bangkok.

Transport and Logistics in Focus

On 30 October, participants will discuss maritime, air and multimodal transport, port infrastructure, and the digitalisation of logistics. Companies moving goods between Russia and Thailand must consider not only freight rates but also routes, transit times, cargo requirements, customs procedures and documentation.

Trade and Investment

The programme includes a presentation of the Russian-Thai Trade Platform and the Made in Russia trade pavilion in Thailand. Other sessions will address agricultural trade, food security, metallurgy, energy, certification and standardisation. Discussions on 31 October will cover digital platforms, technology, healthcare, wellness, real estate, hospitality and tourism.

Financial Infrastructure and Cross-Border Payments

A dedicated session on 31 October will examine financial infrastructure and alternative payment methods, including settlements in national currencies. Importers and exporters must assess payment options against applicable restrictions and bank requirements.

What Businesses Should Consider

The forum offers a venue for finding partners, discussing investment projects and exchanging practical experience. Its programme should not be interpreted as confirmation that customs rules, tariffs or payment conditions will automatically change.

Companies planning trade between Russia and Thailand should assess the entire supply chain in advance, from supplier selection and product compliance to freight costs, customs clearance and payment arrangements.
