How We Delivered Equipment for a New AI Computing Cluster from Thailand in 14 Days — A Practical Case Study
Last week we completed a notable project for a company that approached us with an urgent request: to organize the delivery of equipment required to build a new high-performance computing cluster for AI workloads.
This scenario is increasingly common in 2024–2025: the required equipment is available in Asia, while in other markets it is unavailable, overpriced or has very long lead times. And most importantly — without a trusted local representative in Southeast Asia, such procurement can easily break down due to language barriers, regulatory specifics, documentation requirements, and the lack of an on-site technical team.
Client’s Challenges
— the Thai supplier did not speak Russian and had very limited English communication;
— the factory was located inside a Thai Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with its own export procedures and regulatory rules;
— several AI-related server components required technical validation before export;
— deadlines were extremely tight — essentially “needed yesterday”;
— shipment had to be done by air with a complete export & import documentation package for both Thailand and Russia.
What We Did — Thai Rus Alliance
1. Supplier & Equipment Verification
– performed an on-site inspection inside the Thai SEZ;
– clarified which documents the factory could issue directly and which required SEZ administrative office approval;
– aligned and confirmed the full technical specifications to avoid discrepancies during export;
– handled preparation and verification of all related documents at each stage.
2. Local Negotiations & Compliance Preparation
– conducted all negotiations in Thai and English;
– agreed on purchasing terms, payment conditions and export procedures according to SEZ regulations;
– checked equipment completeness, packaging quality, labeling, and documentation at the factory warehouse.
3. Domestic Transit in Thailand & Pallet-by-Pallet Inspection
– arranged domestic transportation from the SEZ to Bangkok International Airport;
– supervised the cargo at each stage, including SEZ exit procedures;
– performed photo and video inspection of every pallet, confirming labeling, integrity, and compliance with export requirements.
4. Airport Handling & Export
– accompanied the cargo to and through the bonded warehouse (CFS) at the airport: sealing, document submission, cargo acceptance;
– prepared and validated all export documents according to Thai regulations;
– synchronized the export documentation with Russian customs requirements to avoid delays
Delivery Time: 14 Days
From the moment the project was approved to the final handover to the client.
Result
The equipment was delivered successfully, passed all inspections, and is already being integrated into a new machine-learning and AI computing cluster.
Why This Matters
Thai Special Economic Zones operate under unique regulatory frameworks. Exporting from an SEZ without a reliable local representative is extremely difficult to execute quickly and correctly.
Our local presence in Thailand, together with trilingual communication (Thai–English–Russian), enables us to handle such operations end-to-end — efficiently and without unnecessary risks.
We regularly complete similar projects from Thailand, including electronics, chips, servers, industrial equipment and specialized hardware.
If you are considering sourcing equipment from Thailand — whether for Europe, the USA, the Middle East or other markets — or if you need assistance working with SEZ-based factories, we’re open to sharing our expertise.
